

Philosophy
Amstan’s philosophy is quite simple - we want to add value to a customer’s logistics activities by designing a program to meet the customer’s specific needs. In some instances, the customer may not even be sure what his need is. It is up to the Sales personnel to determine how Amstan can add value to the customer.

Your Customer's Contacts at Amstan
At Amstan, we believe in “one on one” marketing. Simply put, each customer is assigned a specific Customer Service Representative (CSR) who has the responsibility of ensuring that a customer’s daily needs are met, regardless if they are full load, less than truckload, warehousing, etc. The CSR also plays a key role in relaying feedback to Amstan operational personnel and you.
Prior to Doing Business with an Account
When you locate an account that is interested in doing business with Amstan, you must complete an Account Profile and Credit Application form and forward to the Amstan Contact who will review the information. If the account meets our requirements and their credit is okay, you will be advise to proceed with the account
Proposals
The next step is to provide the account with a rate proposal. Provide Amstan with the information and we will generate the proposal which can either be sent to your attention or directly to the account.
Once the account agrees to the proposal, returned a signed copy of the agreement to Amstan. At that point, a CSR will be assigned to the account and service can commence.
Contracts
At Amstan, we follow one basic rule - If its not in writing, it doesn’t exist!!!! Please keep this in mind when dealing with accounts. If we document all rates, then we reduce the potential for problems later on.
Rate Confirmations
We also try to keep the process of dealing with Amstan simple. Once Amstan has a signed agreement on file, modifications or additions to the rates can be handled using rate confirmation forms. These are enclosed. When a rate needs to be modified or added, complete the appropriate form (LTL, intermodal or full load) and fax to the customer for signature. Then return a signed copy to Amstan.
Commissions Processing
All commissions applicable to loads handled Sunday through Saturday are processed the following Wednesday. Your check is then mailed by Thursday. You do not have to wait until we get paid from the account; however, we must have all rate confirmations and carrier information on file prior to paying the commission. Freight Not Handled
At Amstan, we do not handle the following freight:
~ freight classified as hazardous
~ grocery store warehouse deliveries
~ pallet exchange
~ garbage
~ product highly susceptible to theft
~ product with a value exceeding $100,000.
Amstan will handle freight that requires the driver to unload. However, this freight generally is restricted to Amstan’s brokerage operation. Amstan will handle scrap on an account by account basis.
